How does the splitter decide where to break?

It prefers paragraph boundaries, then sentence ends, then word boundaries — in that order — so each post stays a coherent unit under your limit.

Does it cut links in half?

Never. URLs are treated as atomic units; if a single link is longer than the whole limit it becomes its own post and is flagged red.

Can I force a post break?

Yes — type --- alone on a line and the thread splits there regardless of length.

Is the 500-character limit accurate for Threads?

Yes, and the engine also accounts for the space taken by numbering and continuation marks, so what you copy always fits.

Does it work for X, Bluesky or Mastodon?
